For a number of Pacific Beach Middle School students, tracking success includes more than just in the classroom.
\nEarlier this month, 32 students from the school took part in the first San Diego Unified Middle School track meet in more than 30 years Held at La Jolla High. The day was comprised of shot-put, long jump, high jump, 100m dash, and 200m, 400m, and 1600m runs as well as coed 4x100m and 4x400m relays. Each event was broken into male and female and grade level (sixth, seventh and eighth) divisions.
\nIn individual events, PBMS students took home six gold medals, 10 silver medals, and six bronze medals. They also grabbed several first- and second-place finishes in the relays. The team was coached by physical education teacher Beau Doom and parent volunteer Andre Evans. The PBMS results (top three): Boys
