The main event will be on Saturday, May 24 from 3 to 5 p.m. in partnership with 91X and Lowes.<br \/>\n\u2022 The Jazz on the Green concert takes place Saturday, May 17 from noon to 3 pm. Jazz on the Green brings the community together to enjoy fine food and music under the trees of Mission Bay High\u2019s quad area. This annual event will feature the sounds of the\u00a0Preservationists, jazz ensemble and swing choir of Mission Bay High. Jazz on the Green is family friendly and will feature activities for children. $10.<br \/>\n\u2022 The &#8220;May Show&#8221; Spring Concert takes place Thursday, May 29 at 7 p.m. This year\u2019s spring concert will showcase all the bands in the MBHS music program playing music from the classics to popular tunes. $5. Guadalupe was a semi-finalist and was invited to attend the grand awards program at the new downtown Central Library. \u2022 PB Middle IB World School won a trophy for best scene at the Shakespeare Festival in Balboa Park on May 3.\u00a0Eight PBMS students (Sophie Adams, Vance Allan, Nicholas Archer, Ryleigh Maple, Whitney Marshall, Nina Morch, Sophie Reich and Emma Rodriguez) \u2014 with the assistance of their history and art teacher Mrs. Liebke and music teacher Mr. O\u2019Donnell \u2014 performed a scene at the festival in Balboa Park. This year, students researched topics like children\u2019s issues and rights, health issues, war and disappearance of the bees, to name a few.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nFRIENDS OF PB SECONDARY SCHOOLS<br \/>\n\u2022 Friends of PB Secondary Schools\u2019 School Yard Dash 5K was a runaway hit with nearly 350 runners and walkers. Held on April 26 at De Anza Cove, the event featured running and walking events, a vendor fair, student bands, YMCA activities and a delicious brunch.\u00a0Thank you to all of our wonderful sponsors and volunteers who made our first run a smashing success.
