Each year the OBMA committees award individuals and businesses for their contributions to public improvements, public safety, design, promotion, revitalization and expansion within the community. OB Town Council \u2013 for an outstanding Holiday Parade that reflects the best of OB<br \/>\nOB Brewery \u2013 for receiving a coveted Gold Medal\u00a0 and the designation of\u00a0 &#8220;Small Brewery of the Year&#8221; award from Great American Beer Festival.<br \/>\nThe Economic Vitality People\u2019s Choice Award went to OB Town Council. Promotion Committee\u00a0<br \/>\nPurpose: To improve consumer, merchant, and resident confidence in OB through a unified image created by an exciting variety of activities. This committee is dedicated to creating &#038; implementing special events, promoting the business district, and advertising campaigns, as well as OceanBeachSanDiego.com.<br \/>\nRun for Cover Bookstore \u2013 outstanding marketing as a new business.<br \/>\nIntrepid Network \u2013 for producing the outstanding OBMA\u2019s 40th Anniversary Timeline Video.<br \/>\nCulture Brewing Co. \u2013 for their community outreach and involvement in the community.<br \/>\nCreations \u2013 for participating in multiple membership opportunities to market\u00a0 their business.<br \/>\nThe Promotion Committee People&#8217;s Choice Award went to Run for Cover Bookstore. The Pass the Torch awards<br \/>\nThe OB MainStreet Association\u00a0wants to thank the following people and businesses:<br \/>\nOB Paint &#038; Hardware\u00a0for their 100 years of business in OB;<br \/>\nThe Black Bead\u00a0for 26 years of business in Ocean Beach;<br \/>\nNewport Avenue Antique Center\u00a0for 25 years of business in Ocean Beach, which established Ocean Beach as a destination for antique lovers. Community Partner Awards<br \/>\nPoint Loma Masonic Center\u00a0for generously donating the hall for the event.<br \/>\nUnion Bank\u00a0for being a major event sponsor. Special Awards<br \/>\nMichele Amsterdam \u2013 2018\u00a0Volunteer of the Year.<br \/>\nCraig Gerwig \u2013 outstanding volunteer member of the year award. Mike Hardin &#8220;Like a Boss&#8221; Award\u00a0(presented to an outstanding member of the community who reflects Mike Hardin\u2019s spirit, generosity, and love of Ocean Beach): Claudia Jack, for her commitment and volunteerism in her community.
