{"id":276426,"date":"2014-04-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-04-16T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sdnews.com\/sip-n-stroll-event-to-showcase-all-that-north-pacific-beach-has-to-offer\/"},"modified":"2014-04-16T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2014-04-16T07:00:00","slug":"sip-n-stroll-event-to-showcase-all-that-north-pacific-beach-has-to-offer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.sdnews.com\/es\/sip-n-stroll-event-to-showcase-all-that-north-pacific-beach-has-to-offer\/","title":{"rendered":"Sip \u2019N\u2019 Stroll event to showcase all that North Pacific Beach has to offer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last year\u2019s inaugural North PB Sip \u2019N\u2019 Stroll business street fair was so successful that organizers held a workshop recently to solicit public input on how to make this year\u2019s second annual event on Aug. 3 even better.<br \/>\nLocals turned out at event presenter Turquoise Cellars at 5026 Cass St. on April 14 to discuss what worked \u2014 and didn\u2019t \u2014 at the initial event that showcased products and services from businesses in North Pacific Beach.<br \/>\nNorth Pacific Beach is loosely defined as the area of the beach community north of the Grand and Garnet avenues commercial district, bounded by Felspar Street on the south, Turquoise Street on the north, Mission Boulevard on the west and Ingraham Street on the east.<br \/>\n&#8220;We wanted the community to be even more involved this year,&#8221; said event organizer Mike Spangler of Spangler Event Productions.<br \/>\nSpangler said the objective of this month\u2019s public meeting was to &#8220;get more feedback on how we can get more local businesses involved.&#8221; He said the business street fair is intended to have a &#8220;truly neighborhood focus.&#8221;<br \/>\nConceptually, Sip \u2019N\u2019 Stroll is an attempt by North Pacific Beach to distinguish itself from the rest of the community by establishing a unique identity. As a result, the event was created to merge the &#8220;sip&#8221; of wine tasting at Turquoise Cellars with a &#8220;stroll&#8221; down a family-friendly, business-marketing street fair.<br \/>\nSpangler said it is his hope that Sip \u2019N\u2019 Stroll will continue to be a very &#8220;hyperlocal, grass-roots effort,&#8221; promoting both brick-and-mortar and at-home local businesses in accounting, financial services, digital marketing and numerous other growing fields.<br \/>\nThere is room for the event to grow, Spangler said.<br \/>\n&#8220;We want it to grow in participation, get more PB businesses to be involved and really come down and market themselves,&#8221; he said.<br \/>\nSip \u2019N\u2019 Stroll 2013 is sponsored by the Pacific Beach Town Council and supported by the Discover PB Business Improvement District.<br \/>\nFor more information, visit www.spanglereventproductions.com.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last year\u2019s inaugural North PB Sip \u2019N\u2019 Stroll business street fair was so successful that organizers held a workshop recently to solicit public input on how to make this year\u2019s second annual event on Aug. 3 even better.
