\nNoting his business name is “a play on words, branding you\u2019ll remember,” Howard Flamm, clinic director\/nutrition coach for Ravive Health & Vitality, talked about his expanded services.
\nRavive provides acupuncture, massage, I-Lipo laser treatment, vitamin and mineral injection, IV infusion, local cryotherapy and an oxygen bar in a new second-story suite, as well as offering medical weight loss.
\n“We have cryotherapy, infusion and oxygen bar therapy,” said clinic manager\/medical assistant Alexis Joyner. “The cryo is more for people with localized pain. The IV is for people who need to rehydrate for an overall boost, and the oxygen bar is great for headaches or migraines because you\u2019re getting purer oxygen, which helps your brain function.”
\n“The virtues of cold therapy really have some amazing scientific evidence,” concurred Flamm about cryotherapy. He noted Ravive has the only, electric-powered, local cryotherapy machine in San Diego. “The client that purchased it right before us was the Miami Dolphins, which used it on the sidelines. It has great applications. It really gets the body doing its own work.”
\nOf his other therapeutic procedures in his expanded second-story suite, Flamm noted his oxygen bar “is the only one operating in San Diego. It\u2019s great for people who have stress and anxiety, respiratory issues, etc. The IV infusion therapy we do with vitamins and minerals helps with certain ailments and detoxification. It\u2019s the only one in Point Loma.”
\n“Our goal is to have every client leave with more knowledge about their health and how to address their medical needs holistically,” according to Ravive\u2019s website.
\nThe dietary portion of Ravive\u2019s program, Ideal Protein, is a specially designed line of medically developed nutrition products, Ideal Protein. Ideal offers a full range of dietary options including snacks, drinks, meals and soups.
\n“This is a medical weight-loss and nutrition lifestyle program, we want them to lose quality weight, which includes maintaining muscle mass. ” Flamm explained. “It\u2019s a teaching program,” “There\u2019s lots of coaching and diagnostics. We\u2019ve had people who\u2019ve lost 30, 40, 50… some over 100 pounds.” Flamm and Joyner agreed the Peninsula is the best place for them.
\n“We want to help people,” said Joyner. “We want people to not hurt, be healthier, happier, and feel better.”
