The CIF\u2019s begin on Feb. 13, with the finals on Feb. 24. Girls basketball<br \/>\nThe Bucs come into action this week under head coach Vince Ichihara with a record of 4-14.<br \/>\nAccording to Ichihara, key members to date have included Natalie Mcdermott, Brooklyn Grooms, Mckenzie Grooms, Maci Grenfell, Gwen Lundstrum and Maya Jessee.<br \/>\n&#8220;The team has had a roller coaster season with new players mixing in with the veterans and only two returning players from the varsity league champion team from last year,&#8221; Ichihara remarked. &#8220;We had a great win against Sweetwater High last week that showed our potential. With no seniors on the team this season, the future is bright for our team as we move forward. We still have an outside chance of making the playoffs this season which would be a great experience for the new players.&#8221; Boys basketball Mission Bay came into the week at 22-4 for head coach Marshawn Cherry. The Bucs have been led by Boogie Ellis, Jaymarree Norton, Ronnie Latting, Andre Scott, Savaugh Davis, Michael Barcia and Nicholas Archer.<br \/>\n&#8220;We are looking to finish out our next three games to go 12-0 and win League for the first time in 28 years,&#8221; Cherry said. &#8220;We hope to get a top-two seed in CIFs.&#8221;\u00a0 Boys soccer<br \/>\nUnder head coach Joe Panian, the Bucs came into the week with a record of 4-9. According to Panian, one of the key players as of late is sophomore Cody Armstrong.<br \/>\n&#8220;The team is young and growing together,&#8221; Panian commented. Girls soccer Mission Bay is sporting a 9-3-5 record for head coach Jorge Palacios.<br \/>\nThe Bucs had big wins last week over University City (1-0) and Coronado (6-0), respectively.<br \/>\nLina Rodriguez is the team\u2019s scoring leader, with Juliette Tran, Malaya Sharpe and Alex Fisher being big contributors, according to Palacios.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Girls water polo Mission Bay is 12-9 as it heads into matches this week under head coach John Knight.
