Running Friday, April 6 to Sunday, April 8, this year\u2019s La Jolla Concours d\u2019Elegance will be one for the books. Held annually at Scripps Park, this is the event\u2019s 14th consecutive year in La Jolla. “We\u2019re excited to have a 135-car-field this year,” said Bob Kerner, the chief chair of selection committee for the Concours d\u2019Elegance. “Also, our featured mark is going to be Lincoln, so for fans out there, we will be showing their models from the 20s up until the 60s.”
\nKerner added that there will be a Japanese class, as well as a number of other cars representative of the Pebble Beach Concours d\u2019Elegance, which he refers to as the “granddaddy of all Concours.” “If a car can win \u2018best in show\u2019 at the Pebble Beach Concours, it\u2019s something impressive,” said Kerner. Weekend festivities begin the evening of April 6, 1930s style, at the Rolls-Royce “Dapper and Delight Soiree,” from 7 to 10 p.m. at Covo Restaurant, located at 1205 Prospect St. Tickets to this event cost $100. On April 7, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., attendees have the ability to view some of the most “exquisite collections and clubs” San Diego has to offer at the Porsche San Diego Tour d\u2019Elegance. For $225, one can expect continental breakfast, a tour of the Porsche showroom, view a private collection and conclude with lunch at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club.
\nThat evening will continue the tradition of outdoor champagne tasting and cocktails in Scripps Park. Sponsored by Aston Martin, the Art Deco Party at the Cove will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Tickets cost $225.
\nThe 14th annual Concours d\u2019Elegance will conclude on April 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. General admission tickets for the final day cost $65, with VIP tickets costing $175.
