CHEFS PREP FOR ANNUAL MAMA\u2019S DAY AT HYATT REGENCY LA JOLLA<\/p>\n

Best known as San Diego\u2019s original tasting event, Mama\u2019s Day, benefiting\u00a0Mama\u2019s\u00a0Kitchen, is scheduled for Friday, May 10 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Hyatt\u00a0Regency La Jolla at Aventine. The annual fundraising event features nearly 50 chefs\u00a0offering distinctive tastes ranging from San Diego\u2019s finest restaurants to our city\u2019s top of\u00a0the line hotels and catering companies. Event organizers expect nearly 600 attendees to\u00a0sample some of the most delicious tastes and treats from around San Diego.<\/p>\n

The fundraiser raises critical funds for the organization\u2019s mission to deliver three medically-tailored\u00a0nutritional meals a day, seven days a week and free of charge to local women, men and children\u00a0vulnerable to hunger due to HIV, cancer or other critical illnesses like congestive heart failure and Type II\u00a0diabetes. In 2018, Mama\u2019s Day raised $170,000, which provided 58,000 home-delivered meals to\u00a0Mama\u2019s Kitchen\u2019s clients. This year, the event aims to raise $220,000 to provide 75,342 meals to San\u00a0Diego\u2019s critically ill neighbors.<\/p>\n

All attendees will enjoy an elegant evening of extraordinary cuisine. The event will also include live\u00a0music and entertainment, and a variety of lawn games to play poolside, including ping pong, corn hole\u00a0and more. Those looking to walk away with more than delighted taste buds are encouraged to bid on an\u00a0extensive silent auction or buy a chance to win fabulous prizes in an opportunity drawing.<\/p>\n

ROTARY\u00a0CLUB OF LA JOLLA HOSTS “ROTARIANS AT WORK DAY”\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n


<\/strong>On\u00a0Saturday, April 27, members of the Rotary Club of La Jolla will repot and\u00a0replant dozens of geranium-filled hanging\u00a0planters that decorate La Jolla\u00a0streets. The project is for “Rotarians at Work\u00a0Day,” an annual effort by Rotary\u00a0clubs in District 5340 (San Diego and Imperial\u00a0counties), to make a difference\u00a0in their local communities.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Students\u00a0of La Jolla High School\u2019s Interact Club, a Rotary-sponsored youth\u00a0community-service club, will also help with replanting. San Diego firefighters\u00a0and junior firefighters will assist by lowering and lifting the heavy planters\u00a0safely.<\/p>\n
