But it was still fantastic.”
About 70 players participated in the tournament, including 8 children.
“We made $5,600 a few years ago, then got up to $8,200,” Shirts said. “This year, we were able to get Corky McMillin Cos. and Liberty Station as title sponsors.”
In addition to the title sponsors, Miguel’s Cocina contributed by catering the event.
The nine-hole course at Sail Ho is currently listed as a national historic site in the former Naval Training Center’s (NTC) historic district in Point Loma.
The course was closed for two years while it underwent improvements and renovations, reopening in 2006.
“Mike McDeavitt has done some work for our company and he contacted us about the event. We are always open to support anything educational or community-oriented,” said Corky McMillin representative and golf tournament participant Cece Doti.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
The fourth annual Sunset View Elementary Foundation’s (SVEF) Golf Tournament teed off at Liberty Station’s Sail Ho Golf Course on May 1 to help the school better deal with tough budget times. “We do the fundraising for the school’s extracurricular activities, programs and equipment that some might some consider normal, such as new computers, spending […]<\/p>","protected":false},"author":726,"featured_media":264274,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_seopress_robots_primary_cat":"","_seopress_titles_title":"Sunset View's golf tourney swings into action to augment funds","_seopress_titles_desc":"","_seopress_robots_index":"","jnews-multi-image_gallery":[],"jnews_single_post":[],"jnews_primary_category":[],"jnews_social_meta":[],"jnews_override_counter":[],"footnotes":""},"categories":[11600],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-264273","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sdnews"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/test.sdnews.com\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/264273","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/test.sdnews.com\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/test.sdnews.com\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/test.sdnews.com\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/726"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/test.sdnews.com\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=264273"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/test.sdnews.com\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/264273\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/test.sdnews.com\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/264274"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/test.sdnews.com\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=264273"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/test.sdnews.com\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=264273"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/test.sdnews.com\/es\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=264273"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
