Henry&#8217;s patrons can drop off nonperishable food items at collection bins at the front of any of the 19 participating Henry&#8217;s Farmers Market stores in San Diego, including the University City location, 3358 Governor Drive and the Pacific Beach location, 1260 Garnet Ave.<br \/>The items collected will benefit Father Joe&#8217;s Villages, its fire relief program and 4,000 meals that the Villages serve each day.<br \/>To make giving even more convenient for customers, Henry&#8217;s is providing pre-packaged Grab &#8216;n&#8217; Give grocery bags filled with items that are appropriate for Father Joe&#8217;s meals and other holiday and fire relief food drives.<br \/>For more information on Henry&#8217;s Farmers Markets, visit www.henrysmarkets.com.<br \/>For more information on Father Joe&#8217;s Villages, visit www.neighbor.org.<\/p>\n<p>Malls beef up security for holiday shopping<br \/>The San Diego Police Dept. will ramp up enforcement at various malls and shopping centers throughout the city, including Westfield UTC and downtown&#8217;s Horton Plaza, in anticipation of the holiday shopping season.<br \/>In addition to uniformed officers, undercover officers will be looking for criminal activity at the malls.<br \/>SDPD also recommends the following tips:<br \/>&#8220;\u00a2 Park in well-lighted areas<br \/>&#8220;\u00a2 Shop in pairs or with a group; do not walk to and\/or from your car alone<br \/>&#8220;\u00a2 Do not hesitate to ask mall or store security to escort you to your car<br \/>&#8220;\u00a2 Pay close attention to your surroundings<br \/>&#8220;\u00a2 Keep your cell phone with you but don&#8217;t talk on your phone while walking to and from your car; have it available in case you need to call for assistance<br \/>&#8220;\u00a2 Do not leave valuables in your car as this is an enticement for thieves who may see the items or may see you store the items in your trunk<br \/>&#8220;\u00a2 Report people you believe to be casing the parking lots or stores<br \/>&#8220;\u00a2 Make a police report if you have been a victim of a crime<br \/>&#8220;\u00a2 Be a good witness; collect information on suspect and vehicle descriptions to aid police and security in capturing criminals<br \/>Uniformed and undercover officers will be working adjusted hours to address the peak shopping hours.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reflecting poolA lake overtakes a large portion of the lawn outside La Jolla Recreation Center, 615 Prospect St., following heavier than expected rain on Nov. 30.
