DEBE ESCUCHAR<\/b>
\nWhile classical music doesn\u2019t get much coverage in San Diego, the area in fact has a thriving community, perhaps topped by the symphony, but also including a plethora of options big and small. One of the brightest spots on this year\u2019s calendar is the La Jolla Music Society\u2019s Discovery Series, which next takes place on at the auditorium at The Scripps Research Institute on Jan. 12 at 3 p.m. Featuring a performance from violinist and Uzbekistan native Nadir Khashimov, the event will please classical aficionados, showing there is still life in this centuries-old music. Khashimov will perform works by Mozart, Saint-Sa\u00ebns and Bach. At barely 22 years of age Khashimov is one of the modern era\u2019s most feted young talents and a must see for anyone who appreciates rising talent.
