The event allows guests to sample the creative and traditional recipes from each competitor before casting their vote for the people\u2019s choice award. The restaurant was launched in 2012 by Brian Stout, who had previously co-owned the former <strong>Brian\u2019s American Eatery<\/strong> on Washington Street. That too had suddenly closed before <strong>Great Maple<\/strong> moved in. A posting on Facebook under the name \u201cLil B\u2019s Restaurant,\u201d dated Aug. 14, simply states: \u201cI\u2019m sure I speak for everyone that worked at Lil B\u2019s that we appreciate the loyalty of all of our customers. We will miss u all.\u201d 2611 El Cajon Blvd.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Two of life\u2019s guilty pleasures, bacon and booze, will take center stage at the fourth annual <strong>San Diego Bacon Festival<\/strong>, from 1 \u2013 5:30 p.m., Sept. 3, at <strong>Liberty Station\u2019s<\/strong> <strong>Preble Field<\/strong>. They\u2019ll be joined by dozens of local and national breweries doling out samples of their latest and greatest releases. The rolls, which are available with flavored icings and various toppings of choice, are free of dairy and eggs. The company launched several years ago in Berkeley, and has since branched into Las Vegas, Atlanta and Southlake, Texas.
