When we were young<\/b>, the entire world was a canvas:\u00a0a<\/span>\u00a0beach could easily turn into a solar system with just a few circles drawn in the sand,\u00a0pags<\/span>ainted bugs and butterflies confetti-ed the refrigerator door, and sidewalk chalk littered the driveway.\u00a0 <\/span>We made castles out of building blocks, and pretended to be super heroes and villainous monsters with cardboard swords.\u00a0 <\/span>Not only was the world a canvas, it was also a stage.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery child is an artist\u201d<\/b> said Pablo Picasso.\u00a0 <\/span>The insatiable astonishment we are born with is boundless.\u00a0 <\/span>Not only are children unafraid of limits, they often don’t even recognize their existence.\u00a0 <\/span>Infinite possibilities occur during each walk to the park.\u00a0 <\/span>In a loving and safe environment, the mind of a child\u00a0<\/span>blooms like springtime all year round.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe problem is staying an artist when you grow up.\u201d<\/b>\u00a0 <\/span>As we grow older we must become more accountable.\u00a0 <\/span>We silently trade that deeply embedded creative magic for modern-day responsibility and a schedule.\u00a0 <\/span>We have bills to pay, and we have to work hard and often to pay them.\u00a0 <\/span>When we were children we couldn’t wait to grow up so that we could do whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted.\u00a0 <\/span>As my mom once asked, \u201cHow’s that working out for you?\u201d<\/p>\n

There has to be a way to rediscover the creative ideas we’ve left behind while maintaining our current to-do list.\u00a0 <\/span>If you don’t think you are artistically talented, news flash:\u00a0 <\/span>YOU ARE!\u00a0 <\/span>You may not have found the right medium yet.\u00a0 <\/span>Art is not confined to 2-dimensional drawings;\u00a0 D<\/span>ance, theater, music, photography, and Kung Fu are all examples of an artistic process.<\/p>\n

Spend an afternoon with a pencil and paper and embark on the journey of a lifetime.\u00a0 <\/span>Art has been used for centuries as an insight into our true nature.\u00a0 <\/span>Art therapy is a very common technique for all ages and countless conditions.\u00a0 <\/span>It’s a meditation that can be shared with friends and family, or kept to yourself.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
