The production ends Sunday, Oct. 28 and is staged at the Malashock Dance Studio in Liberty Station.<\/p>\n<p>Mizerany\u2019s work for the show \u2013 aptly titled \u2018Bully\u2019 \u2013 addresses bullying though dance, providing an intimate look at real-life experiences from the choreographer\u2019s past.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy new work for RAW3, \u2018Bully,\u2019 is my own very personal story,\u201d Mizerany said. \u201cRAW3 is Malashock Dance\u2019s most edgy and provocative production, and I knew I could address this subject matter in a very real and meaningful way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mizerany said he did not shy away from the \u201cinherent violence\u201d needed to tell his story, which he calls both \u201cphysical\u201d and \u201cemotional.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_11986\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11986\" style=\"width: 199px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-11986 lazyload\" title=\"web Malashock Bully Andy Holmes Credit AmberBliss high res\" data-src=\"https:\/\/sduptownnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/web-Malashock-Bully-Andy-Holmes-Credit-AmberBliss-high-res-199x300.jpg\" alt=\"Malashock Dance to host anti-bullying discussion\" width=\"199\" height=\"300\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 199px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 199\/300;\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-11986\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Andy Holmes from \u2018Bully\u2019 (Photo by Amber Bliss)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThere is tremendous power in sharing our mutual stories,\u201d he said. \u201cIt fosters meaningful solutions and allows others to understand your point of view. We can pull strength and resilience from our universal experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the additional two pieces in \u201cMalashock\/RAW3,\u201d themes surrounding desire, social expectations and betrayal are explored. Malashock stages \u201cUneasy Surrender\u201d with seven dancers, and Klenjoski premieres \u201cSplinter,\u201d examining anger, power and forgiveness.<\/p>\n<p>Malashock Dance is a non-profit arts and educational organization that was founded in 1988. Their mission is \u201cto provide transformational experiences through the creation, performance and teaching of dance,\u201d offering contemporary work both nationally and internationally.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for the remaining shows are $25, and the studio is located at 2650 Truxtun Rd. For Friday, Oct. 26 and Saturday, Oct. 27, the show starts at 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 starts at 7 p.m., and the anti-bullying discussion will follow the Saturday show.
