Starting at 11 a.m., Santa Claus will be riding atop his red sleigh in the parade, along with marching bands, dance groups, vintage cars, beauty queens and city officials. The parade starts at Utah Street, runs along University Avenue and ends at Iowa Street. <\/p>\n<p>Angela Lansberg, executive director of North Park Main Street, said, \u201cThe Toyland Parade is a unique North Park event that brings the entire San Diego community together,\u201d adding, \u201cThe combination of 48 years of historical significance coupled with the recent revitalization of the business district gives the parade-goers the opportunity to visit North Park, enjoy the parade and explore our restaurants, bars and unique shops.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Judy Elliot, executive director of the North Park Business Association, said, \u201cAs a resident and as executive director of North Park Business Association, we are always happy to see activities in the area. I have attended the parade in past years, and I think it\u2019s a great celebration. It\u2019s just wonderful. It\u2019s great for kids, it\u2019s a nice thing to do\u2026 and it\u2019s great for all businesses.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Lansberg explained that to encourage as many attendants as possible, the 400-space parking structure is free for the day. <\/p>\n<p>Through the day, Toys for Tots will have drop-off locations for depositing unopened toys in North Park. The following businesses will have donation bins: Ascent Real Estate, Bar Pink, Gorgeous Salon, North Park Theatre, North Park Main Street, The Mission Restaurant, Urban Solace and Sea Rocket Bistro.  <\/p>\n<p>Lansberg said the event is great for both children and adults. \u201cChildren will enjoy seeing the animals, dancers in costume and, of course, Santa Claus,\u201d she said, adding that, for adults, \u201cThe parade also offers vintage cars, floats and music.
