\n<\/strong>The Old Mission Beach Athletic Club (OMBAC) will be hosting its 10th annual four-on-four Volleyball Beachfest and Tournament on Sept. 7. The free event will take place at Mariner\u2019s Point, Mission Bay. Divisions include Men\u2019s Open, Women\u2019s Open, and Co-ed from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. This event is exclusively for adults 21 years of age and older.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Friends of Girl Scouts San Diego are invited to come together under the stars on Friday, Sept. 13, for \u201cUrban Campout: All That Glitters is Gold.\u201d The event will be held from 6-11 p.m. at Girl Scouts\u2019 campus in Balboa Park, located at 1231 Upas St. In addition to a wine walk (modeled after a cake walk) and classic camp activities like archery and s’mores, the event will provide entertainment based on its theme. Urban campers will \u201cpan for gold\u201d and compete for a chance to score a \u201cgolden ticket.\u201d The gilded evening will also feature auctions, gourmet cuisine, adult beverages, and dancing to the music of The Mighty Untouchables. Homeruns for Homelessness
\n<\/strong>Come celebrate InterContinental San Diego\u2019s first anniversary by running the original Padres stadium bases to benefit the Alpha Project and other homeless services. At this all-ages, all-levels event, request your \u201cat-bat\u201d song, step up to the plate at historic Lane Field Park and wind up for a whiffle ball \u2014 the farther you hit it, the more the hotel will donate on your behalf! Then, batter up for a ballpark-style lunch, ice cold brews in the \u201coutfield,\u201d raffle and silent auction prizes, fun and games for kids, and more. In attendance will also be the San Diego Padre\u2019s official Pad Squad and Swingin\u2019 Friar, the official Padres mascot. National Public Lands Day
\n<\/strong>A major volunteer effort is planned for Saturday, Sept. 28, beginning at 9 a.m., to restore one of the last remaining coastal dunes and wetland habitats in California. The San Diego River Park Foundation and project partners need at least 100 people of all ages and abilities to pitch in at San Diego River Mouth near Dog Beach in Ocean Beach. Volunteers will spend the morning removing invasive plants, watering and caring for recent plantings, refurbishing trails, and working on a garden art project. The event is part of the 26th annual National Public Lands Day (NPLD), the nation\u2019s largest single-day volunteer effort for America\u2019s public lands.
