{"id":239397,"date":"2017-08-04T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-08-04T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sdnews.com\/new-sales-representative-joins-sdcnn\/"},"modified":"2017-08-04T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-08-04T07:00:00","slug":"new-sales-representative-joins-sdcnn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.sdnews.com\/es\/new-sales-representative-joins-sdcnn\/","title":{"rendered":"New sales representative joins SDCNN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Brenda Vergara brings 15 years of experience to the network<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>por Jess Winans<\/p>\n<p>The San Diego Community News Network (SDCNN) has welcomed a new sales representative, Brenda Vergara.<\/p>\n<p>Vergara will primarily focus her sales in the various neighborhoods of Downtown, for the monthly San Diego Downtown News, one of six papers in the SDCNN network.<!--more--><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12775\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12775\" style=\"width: 529px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-12775 size-full lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/sandiegodowntownnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/brenda-vergara.jpg\" alt=\"New sales representative joins SDCNN\" width=\"529\" height=\"515\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 529px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 529\/515;\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12775\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Brenda Vergara <em>(Foto por Ken Williams)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Before joining the SDCNN team, Vergara was an account executive for El Latino, a Spanish publication in San Diego, and is currently furthering her education by taking business administration classes.<\/p>\n<p>Originally from Mexico, Vergara crossed the border daily for school while growing up, eventually moving permanently to Orange County, where she got married and settled down.<\/p>\n<p>She lived in Orange County for 22 years, where she also had a daughter. Today Vergara lives in South San Diego with her two dogs Cookie, a Maltese poodle, and Sofie, a poodle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSpanish is my first language,\u201d she said. \u201cIn San Diego, we work really close to the border so it\u2019s key to be bilingual and it will help me to do my job better.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prior to working with news publications, Vergara was a project coordinator and outreach worker in the health care industry.<\/p>\n<p>However, with over 15 years of experience in the public relations and marketing worlds, becoming a sales representative for SDCNN was a natural step for Vergara.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is what I like doing,\u201d she said. \u201cI like it so much, interacting with people, networking, marketing and selling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vergara can be reached at 619-961-1964 and at <a href=\"mailto:brendavergara@sdcnn.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">brendavergara@sdcnn.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u2014Jess Winans is an intern at San Diego Community News Network.
