Over 1,100 people are expected to attend, with tickets available for north or south routes \u2014 each with more than a dozen restaurants \u2014 or an all-inclusive option that includes both routes.<\/p>\n<p>Participating restaurants will offer a sample consisting of an appetizer, entree, dessert or drink. (Photo courtesy Little Italy Association)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Mimmo\u2019s Italian Village has participated in every Taste of Little Italy event, and will be serving their most popular dish, homemade cavatappi sausage. Manager Tanya Myers said they will also offer penne al pesto as a vegetarian\/vegan option.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to appeal to as large of an audience as possible,\u201d she said. \u201cOur hope is that people will taste the food and then come back as longtime customers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Italian is not the only type of cuisine that\u2019s served during the Taste of Little Italy. Craft &amp; Commerce will be offering bacon-wrapped cheese-stuffed dates and apples.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a nice little taster and easy to eat,\u201d said General Manager Brianna Gillin. \u201cWe like to serve something that\u2019s on the menu so that guests can try it and come back and have it again.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5621\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5621\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sandiegodowntownnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/LittleItaly1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5621 lazyload\" alt=\" Participants in last year\u2019s Taste of Italy experienced tastings from up to 30 of the area\u2019s restaurants. (Photo courtesy Little Italy Association)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>According to Gillin, the event is a chance for people who live in the neighborhood \u2014 or spend a lot of time there \u2014 to see everything in one shot.<\/p>\n<p>Each ticket, or \u201ctaste passport,\u201d includes a map and a list identifying each restaurant\u2019s menu offerings. Participants then walk to restaurants at their leisure, having their taste passport stamped at each stop.
