Released in 2008, the film won a Golden Globe and several foreign film awards. Audience: adults and seniors. Showing 6-8 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2018Don\u2019t Get Hooked\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, Jan. 31<\/strong><br \/>\nAging and Independence Services presents \u201cDon\u2019t Get Hooked: Preventing Financial Abuse, Scams and Fraud,\u201d with Anabel Kuykendall. This presentation for older adults and their caregivers will teach you about common schemes like grandparent scams, sweepstakes and lottery con games, telemarketing issues and IRS or other scams by imposters pretending to represent a governmental agency. Participants will receive a \u201cDon\u2019t Get Hooked\u201d booklet and other resources. The artists encompass various themes and rouse conversations about the essence of African American art and culture and their roles in political change, empowerment and contribution to a multinational society. Showing in the Community Room.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Photo exhibit: The See Life Collection<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Through February<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From the Cabrillo National Monument, \u201cThe See Life Collection\u201d is a project highlighting the stunning and diverse ecosystems and animals that call Cabrillo home. The artist, Michael Ready, is a nature photographer based in San Diego.\u00a0From vanishing amphibians to bioluminescent squid, Ready seeks to reveal the diversity of life and particularly its smaller and lesser-known forms.
