Many events will be held this weekend for the annual River Days. Most events are free and open to the public and include hikes, nature walks, bike rides, trail building projects, gardening, community service projects and more. Events will take place all along the San Diego River from Santa Ysabel to Ocean Beach. Several activities are planned in and around Mission Valley including events at the Mission Valley Library (2123 Fenton Parkway), the San Diego River Garden (3334 Camino del Rio North), The Promenade Rio Vista (2185 Station Village Way), and more. The Mission Valley Library (2123 Fenton Parkway) will host this unique event. The fair will feature free samples of animal product-free cuisine. Tips and ideas will be given for adding plant-based foods to diets. Cooking demonstrations, recipes, coupons and other resources will also be available. 2015 Art Glass Guild Spring Show and Patio Sale<\/strong>

The Art Glass Guild will host this annual event at their location in the Spanish Village Art Center (1770 Village Place, Studio 25, Balboa Park) from 10 a.m. \u2013 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. It is the largest art glass show in Southern California boasting several forms of art glass including: blown, fused, cast, stained glass, etched and more. All items are hand made by more than 30 San Diego artists. The show will also include demonstrations of techniques including flame working and glass cutting. All ages are welcome. Celebrating Couture 2015<\/strong>

The Globe Guilders will host this annual luncheon and fashion show to raise funds for The Old Globe Theatre at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel (1 Park Blvd., Downtown). The event will begin with a champagne reception and silent auction at 11 a.m. with a live auction and opportunity drawing at noon, followed by the luncheon and fashion show. This theme of this year\u2019s event is \u201cConnecting with Nature.\u201d The popular event will feature guided nature walks, talks and programs through Mission Trails Regional Park (1 Father Junipero Serra Trail, San Carlos). Special programs will be giving by the San Diego Natural History Museum and others on a variety of subjects. Children\u2019s activities will a climbing wall, crafts, pony ride (9 a.m. \u2013 1p.m.) and more. Most activities will be held from 9 a.m. \u2013 2 p.m. The event is family friendly and free.
