Game time is 7 p.m. Ticket prices are $7 for adults, $3 for seniors.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Alumni Picnic<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Helix Foundation and Alumni Association will host the second annual Helix All Class Picnic on Sunday, Oct. 9, on the school campus. The day will begin with an alumni softball game from 9\u201310:30 a.m., then the picnic will follow from 11 a.m.\u20134 p.m. This will be a great opportunity for alumni to reconnect with old friends and celebrate their alma mater. Families are welcome. The picnic will feature:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Food available for purchase from noon\u20133 p.m., or bring your own<\/li>\n<li>Music and entertainment by the Highlander Band, bands of alumni members, The Highland Players, Vocal Music, Dance, and more.<\/li>\n<li>Activities for kids<\/li>\n<li>\u201cExcellence in Education\u201d Tour (highlight campus and Helix academic program\/achievements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Bring a chair, ice chest, shade, and a picnic basket. Learn how you can volunteer, support, and give back to Helix! About 1.6 million high school juniors from more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2017 National Merit Scholar program by taking the 2015 Preliminary SAT\/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which served as an initial screen of program entrants. The nationwide pool of semifinalists, representing less than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state. The number of semifinalists in a state is proportional to the state\u2019s percentage of the national total of graduating seniors.<\/p>\n<p>Lau now has an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth about $33 million that will be offered next spring. Finalists will be announced in February.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Excellence in Education tours<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you are interested in finding out more about Helix Charter High School, please attend one of our Excellence in Education Tours, held twice monthly.
