TV host Huell Howser left a legacy of California history and culture through PBS\u2019s \u201cCalifornia\u2019s Gold\u201d series, making more than 440 episodes of the popular show. Before his death in January 2013, Howser gave unused footage of himself to producer John McDonald, asking him to finish the episode on Marshal South and the Ghost Mountain experiment, a topic that had long fascinated him. The result is a recently-completed, Howser-hosted episode about the South family, who lived in the Anza-Borrego Desert for two decades without modern conveniences. A special screening of this 65-minute episode of \u201cCalifornia\u2019s Gold\u201d will take place at the library on Monday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. McDonald, the producer, will be on hand to answer questions afterward. But when Mica follows Regina\u2019s trail around Warsaw, she realizes that her grandmother\u2019s visit may be motivated by something other than property.
