La Mesa\u2019s business owners and excited community members gathered April 29 for the Spring Fling Business Expo hosted by the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce. The Spring Fling offered attendees a variety of beverages and food samples from local businesses such as Grove Pastry Shop, The Hills Local Pub and BO-beau Kitchen + Garden as well as live music from La Mesa\u2019s very own The Ideas Rock & Roll Trio. This event also provided local businesses the opportunity to network with new companies in the area in order to collaborate to promote their products and services.<\/p>\n

State Sen. Joel Anderson, who represents La Mesa, provided Senate Certificates of Recognition to the new members of the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce at the Spring Fling.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am grateful for the efforts of Chamber CEO Mary England to ensure the growth and development of local businesses,\u201d Anderson said. \u201cHer work is vital to our community because these local businesses offer extraordinary experiences for residents and visitors, quality employment opportunities, and facilitate local economic growth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mike Sanders, the general manager of Souplantation La Mesa, is one of the chamber\u2019s newest members. Although Souplantation has been open in the community since 1982, Sanders just recently became a member of this tight-knit business association. His high-spirited enthusiasm for the future prospects of his business was evident.<\/p>\n

\u201cJoining the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce is turning a new leaf for my restaurant\u2026 an action that I believe will help strengthen the community and bring people together,\u201d Sanders said.<\/p>\n
