Women’s March San Diego is part of a national movement to unify and empower those who stand for women’s rights, human rights, civil liberties and social justice for all. The 2018 San Diego Women’s March theme is “Hear Our Vote,” and demonstrates commitment to increasing engagement in the democratic process, turning out the vote in 2018 and beyond, and to raising awareness around issues facing communities most affected by the administration. The march begins and ends at Waterfront Park, 1600 Pacific Highway, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20.
The goal is to encourage and increase participation in 2018 elections by mobilizing San Diego voters, and by joining forces with people across the nation to lift our voices and make our votes heard. Participants who are eligible may register to vote at Waterfront Park before or after the march. Last year’s inaugural Women’s March was a huge success with more than 100,000 San Diegans participating. This year’s event will feature a robust program consisting of music, national, state and local politicians and community and faith leaders whose work aligns with unity principles of ending violence, protection of reproductive rights, LGBTQIA rights, workers’ rights, civil rights, disability rights, immigrant rights, indigenous peoples rights and environmental justice.
