A woman was hospitalized with serious leg injuries on Sunday, Jun. 8, after being hit by a tour bus in the 2100 block of Avenida de la Playa near La Jolla Shores.
Police say the woman was crossing the street at Camino del Sol with three other women at about 4:50 p.m. but that the bus driver did not see her as he turned onto the sidestreet. The woman, 47, was pinned under the bus briefly before she was taken to the hospital. Police say it’s not yet clear if the driver will be cited, but an officer said the mishap appeared to be caused by the pedestrian as she walked with her companions..
