The San Diego Watercolor Society will open its 27th International Exhibition beginning Oct. 1, followed by a First Friday Recepttion and Awards event Oct. 5 from 5 to 8 p.m.
For the 27th “I Show” 90 paintings have been chosen from 744 works representing 40 states and 6 countries.
Juried by George James, the California artist who introduced groundbreaking “Yupo” painting techniques, this show presents prime examples of creative, dynamic, and superb technical styles.
The society’s location, at 2825 Dewey Road, Suite 105, is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The San Diego Watercolor Association’s mission is to be a recognized leader in expanding the appreciation of watermedia painting through member instruction, exhibition and community education in San Diego County.
This year SDWS began a new cooperative educational effort with “Liberty School,” a partnership between NTC Foundation and San Diego public schools, expanding educational opportunities to the school-age public through docent-led tours and hands-on instruction.
