Be Boutique is a perfect mix of trendy and classic styles in its amazing store on Ivanhoe Avenue in La Jolla. The store is owned and operated by Lisa Harrison who offers clothing made with style, comfort, and quality at a great price.
I asked her how she came up with the name and she said: “The name Be Boutique can Be Stylish, it can Be Chic, or it can Be Beautiful. The word has lots of options on what it can mean. Just Be You!”
Harrison said that her entire career has been in retail and wholesale. She said her first job was at Wagener European Fashions when she was going to school at the University of San Diego. Presently, the daughter of the owners of Wagener’s is now her store manager, Andrea Wagener.
Currently, Be Boutique is a Liverpool Destination store. This means that Liverpool is only one store per area. They are a growing company from Los Angeles that has morphed into a lifestyle brand that carries suiting for career women.
Be Boutique also carries Veronica M, which is all made in Los Angeles. They carry an assortment of casual dresses, jumpsuits, and tops all with great prints. This brand uses mostly a jersey fabric that you can throw into the washing machine.
Accessories you will find here are handbags made by women in Mexico, which were made from recycled water bottles. In addition, they carry vegan handbags. Harrison said the current color trend for the season is pink and as it gets closer to fall the colors become brighter such as fuchsia. The best-selling item is the jeans jacket with a little stretch in it. They also can help you with the perfect fitted jeans. She carries jewelry from three local artisans, which are Designs by Eileen, Tres Designs, and Spirited Muse Jewelry.
Harrison says that she does a lot of events and loves being part of the community and giving back. If any of the readers would like to host a “Be Boutique Shopping Party” in her store, she will give 20% back to their charity. She enjoys coordinating these parties and will serve beverages and snacks and provide a raffle.
Harrison added: “I try to do something in the store every other month with fun themes and invite customers. La Jolla has a Friday night art walk, which is the first Friday of every month. I always get a jewelry designer to set up outside of her store.”
She will also have pop-up boutique events outside the store and in the community. The next one will be a fundraiser for La Jolla High baseball program on Friday, April 28 with 20% of sales being donated. Upcoming programs in the community will be Salvation Army-Women of Dedication and Rady’s Auxiliaries. For more information, visit https://beboutiquesd.com/.
