The grande dame of charities in San Diego, The Charity Ball, enticed black-tie guests to “Come Fly with Me” and honor Papa Doug and Lisa Manchester and the Manchester Family Foundation. And come they did to the Hotel Del Coronado. The event this year supports the Chadwick Center for Children & Families at Rady’s. The Chadwick Center is core and key to supporting child abuse investigations with forensic investigations and follow-up support and advocacy.
And “Love Pamela,” that’s television and movie star Pamela Anderson for her baring all book and documentary on her life and passions. I was lucky to work with her as her stand-in on a TV movie as well as working with her on “Baywatch.” Since then, I have personally witnessed her steadfast support for animals and the USO at many events. Bravo!
And as some of you might know, my dear loving mother passed recently. She was the best mommie, smart, elegant, and caring. I was fortunate to see her every day for the last eight months, and almost as often before that. As I adjust, I try harder to emulate her many qualities. By the way, she called me her bulldog because if there was anything she needed help on, I took care of her. I miss her immensely. Special thanks to my husband Scott for supporting me, and The Cove Rehabilitation’s outstanding nurses, CNA’s Alysia and Joe, ever cheerful Myla, and my mother’s wonderful and kind roommate Pat and her daughter Theresa.
