A San Diego man plead guilty to felony assault in which he punched a lesbian musician and broke several facial bones after she hugged her girlfriend outside a Mission Beach restaurant. The victim posted a video on YouTube to document her injuries. The attorney for Vinzen Matthew Williams, 21, told San Diego Superior Court Judge Kathleen Lewis he wanted to obtain a psychological evaluation of Williams before his sentencing on Sept. 10. Williams faces a maximum sentence of four years in prison, but the District Attorney’s office agreed not to oppose a sentence of one year in county jail under terms of probation. Rhythm Turner, 25, a singer and guitarist in a local band, was injured on May 14 around 10:30 p.m. after she hugged her girlfriend outside Canes Bar & Grill in Mission Beach. Turner was punched in the face and suffered a fracture on the bridge of her nose and another fracture under her eye socket. She posted a video of her swollen face on YouTube that has received more than 10,000 hits. Turner said Williams asked her rude questions after seeing her hug her girlfriend. Williams remains in the George Bailey Detention Facility on $50,000 bail.
