MISSION POINT BEACH AND JETTY COMMUNITY CLEANUP
House of Scuba will host its eighth-annual Beach & Jetty Cleanup at Mission Point Park from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Aug. 10 at Mission Point Park, 2600 Bayside Lane. A BBQ and raffle provided by House of Scuba will follow the cleanup to celebrate. Those not diving are encouraged to take part by clean up trash as they walk the beach, snorkel or kayak. FATHER JOE VILLAGES’ HOST WALK TO END HOMELESSNESS
Father Joe’s Villages will host its annual A Short Walk Home — San Diego’s only walk to end homelessness — from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Aug. 3 at Spanish Landing Park 3900 N Harbor Dr. The goal of this free event is to raise $100,000 for Father Joe’s Villages emergency solutions like shelter, meals and healthcare and programs like vocational training, therapeutic childcare, substance use disorder treatment, supportive housing and other vital services.
