OCEAN BEACH — The Skin Cancer Foundation has launched another series of national mobile “Road to Healthy Skin Tours,” with a planned stop in Ocean Beach on Saturday, Aug. 14. The exams, presented by AVEENO and Rite Aid, entail a free, full-body evaluation for melanomas, actinic keratoses (the most common pre-cancer) and basal cell carcinomas. Since 2008, 224 dermatologists have donated their time and expertise and probided over 6,500 screenings. The exams take place in a 38-foot RV with two exam rooms. The local exam takes place at the Rite Aid store, 4840 Niagara Ave. An exact time had not been determined, but participants can visit www.skincancer.org/road-to-healthy-skin-tour-2010.html for more information.
