DOWNTOWN — County Supervisor Ron Roberts visited the Gary and Mary West Senior Wellness Center part of the Senior Community Centers, 1525 Fourth Ave., to kick off a week of festivities that will celebrate the center’s 40th anniversary. Roberts served the first meal of the day to Anna Arnold, 99, a 20-year client of the center. The week will culminate in a senior prom-like dance at the center featuring food, live music and dancing on Nov. 8. New and longtime clients will share stories about the impact the center has had on their lives. The Senior Community Centers have assisted many seniors from all over San Diego County with support services that enhance the quality of life of its patrons. The organization has a fan page on Facebook and actively seeks volunteers. For more information visit www.servingseniors.org.
