Classes and after-school activities resume today, Feb. 5, at La Jolla Country Day School following a bomb threat that resulted in the cancellation of classes Feb. 4. FBI Special Agent Darrell Foxworth said that a “known individual” telephoned the school Tuesday, Feb. 3, and threatened to place a bomb on campus. Foxworth said the person is not a student or a school staff member. He added that the school decided to cancel classes because of the specific language of the threat. Foxworth said authorities do not believe the threat is connected with any other recent school threats, such as those at San Ysidro and Torrey Pines high schools. San Ysidro received eight threats in two weeks, the last one on Jan. 30. La Jolla Country Day School is a private college-preparatory school with about 1,200 students. It has students as young as 3 and serves pupils through the 12th grade. – KPBS
