SAN DIEGO MASTER CHORALE ANNOUNCES ITS 2019-2020 SEASON
The San Diego Master Chorale recently announced its 2019-2020 season, which will feature works such as Mendelssohn’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream” and Beethoven’s 9th.
In March 2020, the Master Chorale will be collaborating with the La Jolla Symphony & Chorus in two performances of Britten’s “War Requiem” at UCSD’s Mandeville Auditorium.
In addition to performing with the La Jolla Symphony & Chorus, the Master Chorale will perform with groups such as the San Diego Symphony Orchestra, San Diego State University, San Marcos Elementary Visual and Performing Arts, Palomar Chamber Singers, and more acclaimed, local performing arts groups.
This year, the San Diego Master Chorale will host the 4th annual High School Honor Choir. In this opportunity, over 130 enthusiastic high school students will collaborate with the Master Chorale in a joint concert after a day of instruction and rehearsals.

FREE WATERCOLOR PAINTING CLASS AT JCC

LAUNCH PARTY FOR NEW DR. SEUSS BOOK “HORSE MUSEUM”
A launch party for a never-before-published Dr. Seuss book titled “Horse Museum” will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, in UCSD’s Seuss Room in the Geisel Library, 9500 Gilman Drive. This book, about creating and looking at art, was discovered in 2013 and is based on a manuscript and sketches by Seuss. Copies of the book will be sold at the event, and book readings, live music, and a coloring activity will accompany the book sales. KISS MY AZTEC!’ COMES TO LA JOLLA PLAYHOUSE
John Leguizamo’s new comedic musical “Kiss My Aztec!” takes the La Jolla Playhouse stage from Sept. 3 through Oct. 13 at the Mandell Weiss Theatre, 2910 La Jolla Village Drive. This show offers a modern take on a 16th-century story as it follows a group of Aztecs leading a rebellion against the Spanish.
