A preliminary hearing has been set for April 26 for an Oxnard man accused of sexually assaulting a woman March 2 in La Jolla. Marco Villasenor, 25, has posted $100,000 bond and remains free. He has pleaded not guilty to digital penetration, assault with intent to commit rape and resisting a police officer. The incident occurred in the 7700 block of Exchange Place. The 25-year-old victim noticed a man was following her on Exchange Place. The man threw her to the ground and assaulted her. She screamed and called 911 after the man fled on foot. San Diego police officers arrested Villasenor in the 7700 block of Fay Avenue. The victim identified him as her assailant. Villasenor appeared with his attorney, Garland Peed, a former prosecutor, before San Diego Superior Court Judge Dan Link, who set the preliminary hearing for April 26. — Neal Putnam
