Brielle Mussomeli was crowned 2016 Miss Cabrillo Festival at the 53rd annual pageant held March 13 at the United Portuguese SES Hall in Point Loma. Brielle is a 2016 Point Loma High School graduate and is planning to attend The Berklee School of Music in the fall. As Miss Cabrillo Festival Brielle will reign over the 2016 Cabrillo Festival commemorating Portuguese explorer Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo’s discovery of the West Coast of what is now the U.S. on Sept. 28, 1542 for Spain.
The judges awarded the ‘Spirit of Cabrillo Award’ to Jaquelyn Neves also a 2016 Point Loma High graduate. The pageant is sponsored by Cabrillo Civic Club No. 16 San Diego and Portuguese-American Social & Civic Club.
