Police arrest man in Torrey Reserve robbery
Police arrested a Carmel Valley man last week for allegedly attacking a man and woman at Torrey Pines State Beach, with three other men.
Kevin Anthony Lee, 18, was out on bail awaiting trial for another crime, police said, when he and three other men allegedly approached a couple sitting inside their car at about 11 p.m. March 1. According to police, Lee opened the car door and tried to pull the woman out while demanding the couple’s cell phones and wallet.
The four men stole what they could, police said, and then ran away. Although no one was hurt during the robbery, police said the unrelated case for which Lee was awaiting trial took place last year and involved Lee and other robbers allegedly entering a home near SDSU with guns and duct-taping the occupants.
They reportedly stole cash, computers and other property, police said. According to police, Lee is being held in jail on $2.25 million bond.
