Masked men assault man in home invasion robbery A 60-year-old Mission Beach resident answering a knock at his door was robbed and assaulted by two armed intruders in masks Saturday, Nov. 2, at 8 p.m. According to police, the masked-men were armed with a gun and a knife and demanded money. They taped the victim to a chair and one of the suspects punched the victim in the mouth before the pair fled the Tangiers Court home. According toLt. Vince Villalvazo with San Diego Police Department’s Robbery Division, it took the victim approximately two hours to free himself before he was able to call police. “From the point of the suspects moving him into a bedroom, the charges could be raised to kidnapping,” Villalvazo said. Villalvazo said investigators have no description of the suspects and are asking for the public’s help identifying the intruders. Man drowns in Mission Bay A 42-year-old Tucson man drown in Mission Bay Saturday, Nov. 1, near El Carmel Place. Darren Klock was discovered in the shallow water along the surf line at approximately 8:51 p.m. when fire and police were called. Responding rescuers pronounced the man dead at the scene. According to the County Medical Examiner’s Office, there were no contributing conditions to the drowning.
