DOWNTOWN — Hotel Indigo is the first business in the East Village to work with the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) in a pilot program called Operation Secure San Diego. The program will allow the SDPD to access live video transmissions from one of four lobby cameras located inside the hotel. This will enable officers in their patrol units to assess the scene of possible emergencies, get a first hand image of the possible suspects and victims, and obtain real time information of a suspect’s direction of flight. The SDPD is seeking additional businesses that are interested in participating in this program. An establishment that is interested in participating in this program need only have a camera with Internet access. For more information, businesses are invited to attend the East Village Association Meeting at Hotel Indigo, 509 Ninth Ave., on Sept. 2 at 5 p.m. or contact Jan Allen at [email protected].
