A shopping mall might seem like the least obvious location to take in some of San Diego’s best musical performers, but each week, UTC’s Palm Plaza offers lunchtime sessions called Plaza Unplugged, with some of the area’s top acoustic talent. Starting at noon and running until 2 p.m., these free outdoor performances offer a refreshing respite from the hectic buzz of shopping around them So far, the offerings are largely singer-songwriter, with a touch of jazz and blues in the mix. Upcoming shows are set to include Joshua Taylor (Sunday, Feb. 14), Robin Henkel and Whitney Shay (Friday, Feb. 19), The Same Dames (Sunday, Feb. 21) and Steven Ybarra (Saturday, Feb. 27).
