
A memorial and celebration of life for high-profile La Jolla community activist Robert Hildt, who died March 25 after a long bout with cancer, will be Saturday, April 12 from 3 to 5 p.m. at La Jolla Community Center, 6811 La Jolla Blvd.
A native of Los Angeles and a career banker, Hildt, 56, formed two community banks for which he served as president/CEO. He was a longtime trustee and first vice president of La Jolla Town Council and a member of the La Jolla Traffic & Transportation Committee, the La Jolla Christmas Parade Committee and the La Jolla Community Center board member. He was instrumental in helping establish the La Jolla Parade Foundation.
He was a Vietnam War veteran and was awarded the Army commendation for meritorious service.
He was buried at Fort Rosecrans Cemetery.
