Mark Rountree, known by most simply as Tree, began his journey toward his next life on Nov. 18, 2006.
Noting his generous and giving nature, his mom always said he would never be a rich man. Yet the number of people whose life he touched and perhaps even changed is seemingly endless. He died much before his time, but his family takes comfort knowing that he is enjoying French toast made by his Nana.
The loss that his friends and family feel can only be remedied by celebrating the unconventional life that he lived and by remembering the meaningful friendships he cultivated and the devoted family he loved.
He would not want a heavy, mournful service, but instead a party to celebrate his life. Knowing this, his friends and family will host a memorial in Ocean Beach on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, appropriately coinciding with Super Bowl weekend.
He would give money or any of his possessions to someone whom he believed needed it more. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to America’s Second Harvest.
