McMillin has done a fine job
We are Point Loma residents (Loma Portal area) who wanted to briefly offer our two cents in regard to the ongoing dispute between the “Save our NTC” group and Corky McMillin.
We greatly appreciated Mr. Heiberg’s guest column response, titled “Set the Record Straight” in the March 2 issue. His explanation was well-written and accurate and accomplished what the title said it would, to “set the record straight!”
Every person we have talked to is as excited as we are about the new Liberty Station! While still preserving the important historical aspects of the area, as well as maintaining much of the space as city-owned, Corky McMillin is developing an area that will allow the community to enjoy it!
We already see many special events being held there such as the Chess Championships and SOHO Craftsman and Spanish Revival Weekend, to name a couple. All right in our own backyard!
It is the very best use of the space and is a win/win for everyone! Thank you Corky McMillin – many of us are excited and looking forward to the years ahead with this great development of the area!
