Back on Oct. 4 I wrote that I had attended a San Diego Planning Commission meeting about a development planned for 4824 and 4836 W. Point Loma Blvd., where they plan to tear down two Craftsman-style homes that were built in the early 1900s and build seven two-bedroom units three stories tall on the street not far back from the sidewalk. At that time I said, “There goes the neighborhood,” but I filed an appeal, and we have one last chance to try and stop this inappropriate development from being built as currently designed.
Please consider donating an afternoon of your time to attend the appeal meeting and speak against the development.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. at the City Administration Building at 202 C St., 12th floor, downtown. We can carpool and share parking.

I know it is a sacrifice, but it is worth it.
Let’s let them know that we care about the character of our town and don’t want big, bulky, box-type buildings greeting us as we enter town. Now, the street is lined with single-story Craftsman-style homes mostly built in the early 1900s. Let’s keep it single-story and set back from the street at the street front.
