Certified Public Accountant Dennis La Vorgna has been named “Top Tipper for 2005” by LeTip Golden Triangle. The award is given yearly to the person who brings the most tips or business referrals to other members of LeTip.
“It’s exciting to have been a Top Tipper,” La Vorgna said. “It’s a nice little award to get. It is something that hangs on my wall that my clients can ask about, and that reminds my clients (as well as me) to talk about it.”
La Vorgna has been a LeTip Golden Triangle member for 10 years, but this is the first time he has been awarded the top honors.
Golden Triangle LeTip is a chapter of LeTip International Inc., which has chapters in 21 states in the United States. Passing tips between members is the reason for its existence, and “Dollars in Your Pocket” is the organization’s motto.
La Vorgna is part of the Financial Services Power Partners group, and says that tipping his Power Partners is a “natural.”
Before joining LeTip, most of his new business came by “word of mouth,” La Vorgna said. “The power group has a much better incentive to make a referral “¦ My clients will make referrals when people ask, ‘Hey, do you know a good CPA?’ Whereas [Le Tip Power Partners] are looking for opportunities.”
Second place on the Top Tipper list was Kimberly Best, assistant vice president and premier banking officer at 1st Pacific Bank on Regents Road.
Each member of LeTip is the only representative of his or her business category. T he club is currently looking for new members in the areas of criminal law, plumbing, commercial real estate and auto repair. Also on the wish list are a medical general practitioner, electrician, handyman, photographer and many other professions and services.
LeTip Golden Triangle meets every Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. at Coco’s in Coste Verde Shopping Center.
