The San Diego Armed Services YMCA (San Diego ASY) will hold its ninth annual Father Daughter Dance on Feb. 20, supporting military family bonding among active duty dads and their daughters. Guests will enter a winter wonderland to dance the night away with live entertainment, door prizes, a candy bar, keepsake photos, dinner and more. The event will take place 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel and Marina, 1380 Harbor Island Drive.
The Father Daughter Dance creates a special opportunity for fathers to connect with their daughters. Family relationships are especially difficult for military families balancing deployment, relocation, an injured service member or retirement.
“The San Diego Armed Services YMCA Father & Daughter Dance is an annual family bonding program that seeks to show appreciation for military families while responding to the challenges service members face designating special time to connect with their daughters,” said Tim Ney, executive director of the San Diego Armed Services YMCA.
At the Father Daughter Dance, more than 200 military fathers will experience an evening out with their daughter(s).
