Fashion Day Soiree, a national event presented by Dolce Vita Events, continues plans for an inaugural fashion day in San Diego, but now with a goal to help local fire victims.
The event will be held at 1936 Quivira Way in the Baja Building at the Marina Village on Thursday, Nov. 15 from 5 to 10 p.m.
Twenty-five percent of ticket sales will go to San Diego fire charities and the American Red Cross, in addition to a clothing drive.
Fashion Day Soiree unites 40 prospering fashion companies, independent designers and local boutiques to provide fashion followers with the ultimate shopping experience. Consumers can expect discounts of up to 60 percent on designer items, mini-massages and free beauty treatments, according to organizers.
The event usually benefits children’s charities and women in need of clothes and accessories, but the San Diego fires prompted Priscilla Thomas, the event producer and CEO of Dolce Vita Events, to provide evacuees with wardrobe necessities lost in the fires.
“It was already an established event before the fires happened. Because some of our vendors were affected by the fires, I wanted to do something to help those people that had lost everything,” said Thomas.
Shoppers are being asked to go through their closets and bring anything they can spare to the soiree.
“As an attendee, you can purchase your ticket, know that it goes to fire victims and bring in gently worn items to benefit someone who just lost everything,” noted Thomas.
Thomas hopes to gather at least 20 fire victims and create gift baskets that include wardrobe necessities, toiletries and gift certificates for Home Depot, Best Buy and more.
