The story “UCPG finds holes in draft EIR report” (University City/Golden Triangle News, October 26, 2006, page 1) contained an error in the information about changing the density level for the Monte Verde Project.
The paragraph that read “The change would also increase the density level for the 4.46-acre parcel to more than 168 units per square foot, exceeding the 75-unit per square foot limit set forth in the plan, according to Linda Colley, the UCPG chair” should have said the density level would be increased to more than 168 units per acre, exceeding the 75-unit per acre limit set forth in the plan.
Our thanks to vigilant reader Paul Anderson of South University City for spotting this “large hole” in the article. Oftentimes, land-use planning statistics can get so dense that common sense takes a nap while the figures roll by. By the way, watch for an update on Monte Verde in the Nov. 23 issue of the paper.
