It’s time for that palette-pleasing culinary event you’ve all been waiting for, the Coast of Pacific Beach Restaurant Walk, to be held 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 23.
Hosted by Discover PB, the beach community’s business improvement district, the annual event involves restaurants along Mission Boulevard from Pacific Beach Drive to Emerald Street, and along Garnet Avenue up through Dawes Street.
More than 20 participating restaurants this year include: Board and Brew, Backyard Kitchen and Tap, Filippi’s Pizza Grotto, The Duck Dive, Baja Beach Café, Dolce Italian Ice, Menyu Ramen Taphouse, Flame Broiler, The Local PB, Oceana Coastal Kitchen, Coconut Thai Bistro, Crushed, The Mad Beet, 710 Beach Club, Bareback Grill, Ocean’s Pizza, Bub’s at the Beach, Island Style Hawaii BBQ, PB Pho &Grill, CreaTea, Lil Farmers Café, Millers Field, PB Tuesday Farmers’ Market, Amplified Ale Works and PB Shore Club.
Discover PB’s executive director Sara Berns talked about what to expect.
“Exciting changes this year,” Berns said. “We have five new restaurants in the area participating including Island Style Hawaiian BBQ, who celebrated their grand opening May 11. Other new restaurants include Lil’ Farmers Café, PB Pho and Grill, Createa and Flame Broiler.”
Berns noted that taste events “are a great way for us to promote the diverse dining options in Pacific Beach, and allows potential new customers to not just taste food from restaurants, but see their individual style and décor. The event also increases much-needed foot traffic to explore the shops and services you may drive by, and not notice are there during your daily commute.”
What could be better than a leisurely self-guided restaurant stroll set by the Pacific Ocean? The restaurant walk will also be vegetarian friendly, with eateries offering a vegetarian option noted on ticket maps.
Participants can get generous samples of local cuisine from several vendors at the Pacific Beach Farmers Market, as well as at restaurants on the self-guided restaurant walk food tour, all for only $25 pre-sale, $30 the day of the event.
