The Old Mission Beach Athletic Club will hold its 22nd annual Classic Longboard Surfing Contest, benefiting The San Diego Junior Lifeguard Foundation, 7:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 19 north of Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach.
This surf contest features longboards made in 1969 or earlier must be 9 feet or longer and no leashes, with open divisions for men and women and a special menehune division for ages 16 and under. Loaner boards will be available at Birds Surf Shed and Joe Roper’s Surfboard Repair. Entry fee is $25 ($35 day of event), register online at OMBAC.org/OMSURF.
